![]() ![]() One of the basic topics in these poems is the eagerness that the wiseman feels for his original country (paradise). The poems in the Dîvân-ı Şems-i Tebrîzî reveal the excitement and enthusiasm of Mawlana. All of the gazelles in the Dîvân are in Persian language, though there are also some couplets in Arabic, Greek, and Turkish. Though gazel was written in the form of poetry, Mawlana named some poems of Dîvân-ı Kebîr as ‘kıta’(quartets) and some others as “kaside”. This book was named Dîvân-ı Kebîr by Mawlawis. They are known as Dîvân-ı Kebîr (Great Divan), Külliyât-i Şems-i Tebrîzî (The Collection of Şems-i Tebrizi) or Gazeliyyât-i Şems (The Songs of Şems). Dîvân-ı Şems-i Tebrîzî (The Dîvân of Şems-i Tebrîzî) consists of the poems of Mawlana which do not take place in his poetry book of Mathnawi.
